Students will first learn some basic vocabulary, shown by PowerPoint slides with characters, pinyin and pictures. They'll read after the teacher, and their pronunciation errors will be corrected by the teacher. The goal for this part is for students to tell the name of transportation when they see a picture without character and pinyin cues. In Part 2, students will learn a simple rhyme with body language. This activity helps learners play with the new words with fun, and also learn essential verbs that go with those nouns. students will pair up to practice and perform the rhyme at the end of the class.

\nExpansion- after they watch video

\nFor example,TO PREPARE THE STUDENTS will you play the video without the sound first to have them guess what the video is about- or will ask them what they like to have in their backback? Will you go over the vocab words ahead of time>
\n
\nFor Example for presentation TO SHOW THE STUDENTS THE VIDEO
\nwill you show just a small segment of the video, or all the video at once> Will they have a sheet of paper or be able to jot down what they see. You might ask them, how many items do they see come in or out of the backpack?
\nFor the EXPANSION: Will you ask them to draw up a list of what they would put in their back back? Work in pairs to give each other directions to take out and put things in the back back?
